Dr. Liesl Black is a cornerstone of our St. Clair family with her warmth, expertise, and a deep commitment to patient care. Hailing from St. Clair, Michigan, Dr. Black’s journey into optometry began close to home. She grew up around the profession and quickly developed a love and interest for the role vision and eye health play in people’s lives. Inspired by the opportunity to help others, she pursued her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Ferris State University before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry.
With five years of experience in optometry, Dr. Black is passionate about helping patients achieve their best visual potential. With an impressive toolkit she provides full spectrum care, whether she’s treating ocular diseases, removing foreign bodies, or guiding patients through their eye health journeys, she considers it a privilege to make a difference in their lives.
Dr. Black’s favorite specialty is ocular disease, where she excels in diagnosing and treating complex conditions with care and precision. Her ability to blend technical expertise with a compassionate approach ensures her patients feel confident and supported.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Black can be found soaking up time with her growing family, including her husband, young son, soon-to-arrive daughter, and their beloved dogs. Living just down the road from her parents, she jokes that she and her dad still get along wonderfully—even after years of living and working so closely together!
